Any place can be made into a Sacred Space. I will bring candles, incense, relaxing music and my own magic touch. All you need to ensure is that the space you choose in your home for your Reflexology sessions are free from interruptions - including mobile phones.
Your first session is longer because I sit down with you and discuss your current situation. I will complete a full holistic and medical history and go through the 'Foot Map' with you. I will be able to answer any questions you may still have about Reflexology.
I will provide a very comfortable reclining Reflexology Chair and my own towels. Once you are reclined, your feet are raised and supported by a cushion.
I may begin with a small meditation to help relax you, if I feel that's necessary.
The actual treatment lasts, on average, 60 minutes. The first 10 minutes includes a breathing exercise and specific massage techniques on the foot to:
Starting with the right foot, I work across the entire front, back, sides, toes and ankles - following a precise format using mainly my thumbs. When I feel a blockage, I will work that area several times until I feel the blockage is released. I use a foot map, as shown here, and mark my findings on the map. When I have completed my treatment on the right foot, I then repeat the whole process on the left foot.
Your treatment will finish with both feet having a general foot massage using moisturising foot cream. I will then wrap both feet in a towel. Very often my clients fall asleep during the session. I usually sit quietly for 10 minutes at the end of the session to maximise your relaxation.
At the end of your treatment I will sit with you and discuss my findings. I may suggest lifestyle changes to aid your personal healing journey. I may also make suggestions, based on my findings - such as herbal remedies, healing crystals, diet/nutrition, counselling etc.
My Reflexology sessions are not just about treating your feet. Every client is unique. I will give you the time you need to talk at the end of the treatment and offer appropriate guidance.
Some clients get tearful or upset at the end of the session. Some feel euphoric, some sleepy. These are all normal reactions to the healing process.
I may recommend follow up sessions, if I feel they are necessary. With chronic conditions I would usually recommend weekly treatments for about six weeks. I would definitely recommend a monthly 'maintenance' session as a preventative.
Equally, I am more than happy to conduct 'one off' sessions for those on short stay holidays.
Always, always drink plenty of water in the first few hours after a session, to 'flush' out the toxins broken down by the treatment.
